He came through the surgery just fine and is home, asleep, where I expect he will remain (both home and asleep) for about the next 24+ hours.

Spread the word to any of his friends who aren't also my LJ friends, i.e. who otherwise wouldn't see this in a timely fashion.

no, his voice is completely normal. it was a little rough when i first got to the hospital, but it's fine now.
