arguchik: (my face)

hair sickness

bleah. i'm sick of my hair and i'm going to cut it. i'm sick of touching up my roots, i'm sick of the "zone of bleach," i'm sick of the wind blowing it in my face, i'm sick of the rain flattening and frizzing it, i'm just plain sick of dealing with it every day. (no doubt after i cut it i'll quickly tire of the more frequently required touch-up trims. although thanks to the dried out zone of bleach, my ends have been requiring more frequent trims anyway.)

so i'm going to cut it. short. i was feeling tempted just to buzz it or shave it, but right now i'm leaning toward something more pixie/gamine. input? questions? comments? tomatoes?

it'll be interesting to see what my "natural" hair looks like again. it'll also be interesting to see what i look like with really short hair again--it has been about a decade since the last time i cut it shorter than a chin-length bob. (i know it's probably going to age me a little bit, but hopefully not too much.)

the one bummer is that it won't be long enough anymore....

to pull.............

Buzz it. I'm sayin - running the buzzer over my head and watching my hair fall into the tub is one of the most satisfying experiences I have ever had.
Short hair is hot - everyone wants to rub your head.

when did you buzz your hair, sweetie? recently? just curious...the image i have of you in my head flickers between the way your hair looked right before you moved to reno, and the way it looks in your wedding photos.

Oh, I think I cut it all off soon after the wedding - just couldn't stand the awkward length and maintenance anymore. I think I've buzzed it twice more since then - every couple of months I get a wild hair (hah), usually late at night, and it all has to come off. I set it at the ongest setting - I haven't been brave enough to go all the way, yet... we'll see.

there's some unwritten rule that C's hair must be cut or dye'd under the cover of darkness - 9PM - 3AM is the preferred time. Very strange. Last time, she cut my hair too... hopefully, next time I'll wake up when it happens.

...or just extremely short-haired weirdos. i can't really speak to your dilemma, Miss Whiteowl, since i'm not much better off myself. i cut my hair and dyed it brown so that i wouldn't have to mess with it at much, but now it needs cut and dyed and...i wanna go see Sharon. dammit.

but going natural was really satisfying. i haven't done this in like 16 years. i'd reccomend it.

oh i would do that too if i did my hair myself. nighttime is when that creative, daring vibe usually flies.

so is your hair still long or did she buzz it off?

yeah! your hair looked super cute the last time i saw you--i believe you had it in pigtails. which means "short" for you is already longer than mine is now. but the color looked really nice too.

we'll see if i get bored with the natural hair color... i've been assessing the root situation, and it's going to have to be pretty short to get rid of all the bleached stuff. like no more than a couple of inches long. (i'm trying to think when i last dyed it. i think it was in november.)

as for the weirdos, all i can say (ahem) is that it takes one to know one. ;-)
