you can check out anytime...

hey, check it out. i'm (almost) famous! haha. [livejournal.com profile] jeremyrichards (who also posted about it) did a piece for NPR's weekend edition about the eagles caroling i participated in last weekend. i'm not named in the piece...though [livejournal.com profile] glaucon is...but if you listen carefully to the vocal tracks, you can sorta hear my voice in there. maybe. whee!

so [livejournal.com profile] glaucon, [livejournal.com profile] superannuated1l and i were there, along with a couple of other people and a dog named murphy, and, of course, the brains behind the whole operation: cindy simmons, who has been takin' it easy since 2001.

click to read and listen to the article. i highly recommend the listening option, as that's how the piece was meant to be consumed. :-)

er...happy holidays everyone. and yay, jeremy!

I wish I had time to credit everyone there. I think it was your voice saying, "Hey, we're singing in rounds!" at the very end of the story, but the hosts were so excited that they talked over that last bit.

Oh, and it's American Public Media's Weekend America, but I used to be a local host of Weekend Edition, so it all blends together. Looking forward to next year!

oops--sorry i screwed up the name of the program; i knew the right name, and typed the wrong one. doh!

you did a great job on the story. very nice piece of radio journalism. that's why i told everyone to listen and not just read--it's good copy, but it's even better out loud.

Thank you. I agree; it's just not the same on the page, though they say that when people search for stories, the more text they have, the better the search results. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with the final mix.
