FYI

because a few people have asked me about jester's tumors (and thanks for asking, by the way!): the earliest appointment i could get at my vet's office isn't until october 29th. i tried to take him last week (and now this week), but we had clashing calendars. (i had to wait until after my first payday on the 10th.)

last night i spent about 2.5 hours at the laundromat, washing my down comforter and letting it tumble in the dryer. it's still damp, so i'm going to have to hang it up somehow when i leave today--haven't figured that one out yet, but i will. down is difficult to dry! i had to keep taking it out of the dryer last night to break up the clumps of feathers. the washing instructions i found online said to put like 5-6 tennis balls into the dryer with it to beat out the clumps, but i don't have any, so...

i also got a shitty night's sleep last night. i mean, i slept fine, just not long enough, b/c i didn't get home until after 12:30am. crazy!

No sleep..

I can resemble that no sleep notion... (is that even English grammar?) Take home test worked on until 4 am... didn't even finish a presentation, got further extension on it... too much crap going on. Ack. I'm starting to understand how flexible graduate school is and still not wanting to make use of these wonderful gifts of accepting complex adult situations. I think I'll figure this out sometime... I want to be able to sleep.

yeah...grad school is tough on sleep, especially the first year. i'm not sure if most people just get used to living on less sleep, or if they get more efficient with the workload, thus freeing up more time for sleep. um...at the risk of sounding like one of those "older, wiser" people everyone hates to hear from...it probably doesn't help that you come over to seattle every weekend. ;-)

True... I just need a careful balance of social activity and academic ones and right now the balance is slightly necessary over the mountains. ^_^ There are other reasons to go across the mountains aside from fun as well.
