schools i have attended
well, i just opted to list all of the schools i have attended, on my userinfo page. LJ doesn't list my elementary school (which was northwest kelloggsville elementary, a scant 2-3 blocks from the house where i grew up) or my junior high school (kelloggsville junior high, which began self-destructing in may of the year i finished 8th grade; i mean really, the gym caved in. luckily it was warm out at the time, and not raining, so the gym class was outdoors playing kickball or tennis or something similar. i can't remember how long it took them to tear the thing down. a year? 2 years?). it's funny, LJ provides links to other LJ blogs that list the same schools, but there's no way i am ever going to scroll through all the names listed for each of the colleges/universities i have attended. so i have no idea if any of my old, long-lost friends from those institutions are on LJ or not. perhaps one of *them* will do the hard work of scrolling through all the names, and they will (somehow) figure out who i am, and that they used to know me, and a tear-soaked reunion will ensue.
there are people i wonder about. carey rowells, on whom i had a tremendous crush at one time (which was requited, i believe, as evidenced by the fact that he later wrote me a letter), whose family moved to someplace like south carolina after...what was it, 8th grade? a fateful year, that. (yep, i just looked at my 9th grade yearbook, and he's not in it, so he musta moved before then.) oh, and this guy who was in my first writing workshop at UVM...what was his name...pete, maybe? he was in a rock band. i liked his writing. then there's dawn koper, who was my best friend in junior high. when i went to michigan state, i found out she was there, and i tried calling her and left a message with her roommate, but dawn never called me back. and there's other people...they might know who they are and they might not.

I have several friends who I consider to be highly educated yet never went to college. They keep me on my intellectual toes :) but it's always nice to meet others who have that capacity.
Which is to say, it was nice meeting you. :)
