this is interesting simply because i grew up in a house surrounded by oak trees, and have always loved and even identified with the oak. i love all trees (and all wood), but i feel especially happy and at home when i recognize/identify an oak tree, or some object or piece of furniture made of oak. (of course i also love black walnut because that was/is my father's favorite wood to work.)
