srsly*, though, i could actually use my digital camera to capture at least what's on the screen if this ever happens again.
or i can just save my work every 5 minutes and hope for the best. (now that i think about it, doesn't word have an auto-save function? i should check my preferences and see how that's set; but the danger is that it will write a revised file over the original, and then i will (of course) want to revert to the original.
or i could just go back to using a pen and paper, and typing out final drafts on a typewriter. that's what i did in college, and it didn't scar me too much. (at least i don't think so.)
OR, i COULD finally make good on my longstanding threat to boycott MS products. it's like going off the grid or something, though, you know? like a survivalist.
