I had a dentist appointment this morning--just for a cleaning and checkup. No cavities!
Woot! We had our mass family dental visit yesterday with similar results.
I absolutely love getting my teeth cleaned. I don't necessarily love every moment of the process, because sometimes the hygienist hits a sensitive spot, and that feels...not exactly painful, but unpleasantly wrong. I do love the polisher, though, and I guess I'm extra weird because I like the gritty stuff that inevitably gets left behind on my teeth. I also love the feel of my teeth afterward--so smooth. The place I can really tell the difference is on the inside of my bottom front teeth. I have one crooked tooth there (left of center--my left, I mean). About 4 months after a cleaning, it starts to get rough on the inside edge of that tooth, and by the time I go in for a cleaning I can really tell that it needs to be scraped. So after a cleaning, I can't keep my tongue away from that spot because it's so noticeably smoother than it was before.
QFT! I find that I go into an almost trance-like state where I don't mind the pain or blood when they scrape away with their pointy implements. From what little I know about hypnosis, I imagine looking up at the light, having them talk soothingly, and the repetitive movements probably put me under a bit. Usually when they're done I feel very relaxed and a bit out of it.
