how utterly strange. i was on campus for a union meeting until about 5:45 yesterday. my sis took her kids to the burke museum. afterward, we met up in the magazine section of the u bookstore. i walked into the store, wet from the rain, and there they were. hugs. hadn't seen them since june, and there they were in the bookstore of all places...where i spend hours browsing and buying books. then we went to capitol hill, ate dinner, and took the kids over to fremont to see the troll. then back to capitol hill to drop me off (the kids were tired!), and they all came in to see my apartment. (doh! forgot to hide the vibrator...fortunately none of them noticed it, or at least they didn't ask about it. i distracted them with my juggling skills.)
sheesh! i walked on the ave. and broadway with actual members of my family, in the flesh, my niece and nephew hanging on my arms and joking around with me.
today they are driving down to see mt. st. helens, and tomorrow we're all going to hang around downtown (pike place, the underground city, seattle center, etc.). tomorrow evening we're meeting a bunch of my sister's online political friends for dinner at salty's in west seattle. should be a hoot.
glaucon is joining us. so at least one of my seattle friends is going to meet a few members of my family. again, i say: how utterly and completely strange.
