yeah, it all definitely comes back to oil, for sure. economic, environmental, political, and social collapse threatens (and maybe it will happen on multiple levels at once)...because the global capitalist economy, environmental problems, political and socio-cultural structures are all predicated on some relationship to oil extraction, distribution, and consumption. how interesting, and how frighteningly precarious, eh?
do you know when they're projecting that the peak oil point will be reached, btw? i can't remember, except that it's soon.
