arguchikless than a week until my written exam starts. 72 hours of writing. i'm still reading and reviewing, trying to synthesize what i now realize is a little bit too theory-heavy. (my reading lists are custom...so i have only myself to blame.) but theory is what i love most, so that's what i'm doing.
wish me luck. the anthropologist in me is curious to see how i handle the stress of actually writing the exams. it's a funny thing, to have this "observer" riding around in my head. the "modest witness" recording, integrating, and theorizing my experiences. lol--i could give you a very detailed psychoanalytic explanation about the nature and origins of the "observer" phenomenon, but i should save that for next week. for now...just call it the superego (Freud) or the ego ideal (Lacan)--or call it an artifact of my scientific training (boyle's "modest witness"). or call me schizophrenic and be done with it. ;-)
in other news...i have broken my toe. it's only a little toe--the 4th one on my left foot--but it hurts a lot. it woke me up several times last night. my treatment plan: tape it to the adjacent toe (which i have done) and hope for the best.
