Jon and I saw Apocalypto Tuesday and I thought it was fabulous. As for this "critic" ... WTF is he coming from? It was about a six second scene, and I didn't feel any form of relief by that scene, only a sense of, "uh oh, the Mayans are F'd now!" simply because it's history.
Nothing specific I saw in this movie was a surprise to me in the least, but maybe a lot of people can't say that. *shrugs*
