yay for earth shoes! yay for the hippie yoga instructor who invented them back when i was but a wee lass! yay for my first pair--shiny black mary janes!
seriously, these shoes are awesome. they are unfortunately causing hot spots on the backs of my heels, but i know they'll break in soon, and the supportive goodness that the rest of my feet are experiencing is well worth it. (a side yay for band-aid's blister cushions...) and while they can't fully escape the orthopedic stigma of "comfort shoes," they at least look more stylish than a pair of birkenstocks. (even birkenstock's "stylish" shoes really don't appeal to me; and naot's shoes always have unfortunate bits of embroidery and stuff on them. dansko's i sort of like, but they are a bit too wide for my feet, and because they are also "tall," i constantly roll my ankles when i wear them.)
