arguchikforgot to do this yesterday (also last week)...
READING: all tomorrow's parties by william gibson. next up: either the gate to women's country by sheri tepper, or altered carbon by richard morgan. that's the fiction end of things. i'm also reading a bunch of frederic jameson right now--re-reading a few essays from postmodernism, or: the cultural logic of late capitalism, and i'll be diving into archaeologies of the future (his newest book, about utopianism in SF) in a couple of days.
WEARING: today i'm wearing jeans, black dansko sandals, and a sea-green tank top. also sunscreen. not much else because it's HOT today.
PLANNING: not sure what's going on tonight. today i went to a gathering of PMP survivors over in kirkland. it was hosted by the guy (and his wife) who was featured in the seattle p-i article i blogged about a few months ago. it was mostly an interesting and reassuring experience, but there were a couple of somewhat intense things that happened. i can't really write about it right now, and i'm not sure i should post about it anyway. tomorrow i have a bunch of work to do--i need to read and grade student journals for the upward bound class i'm TA'ing for, and then i need to review a portfolio for a student from spring quarter who is contesting his grade. i also want to do some dissertation writing if possible, and my dissertation reading group is meeting in the evening.
