oy! my relationship with christianity is too tangled and fraught to even get into here.
as for weapons, i tend to think of them as tools that are useful for specific purposes, and fine in that sense unless they are misused. i don't think i'd ever choose to buy a gun myself because i'd be too worried that a kid or someone with bad intentions might get a hold of it. i'd never forgive myself if i owned a gun and it was used to hurt or kill someone. plus, i just don't think "ordinary people" need to own guns. my ex-husband had several, which is how i learned to shoot, but a couple of them made me really uncomfortable. (for example, he had an SKS, which is the chinese version of the AK-47. i just never saw any reason for us to have such a thing in the house.)
