If you are feeling stuck in a rut in your life right now, one of the most effective things you can do is let go of any grudges you've been holding -- it will feel like you just attached one hundred helium balloons to your soul. Holding on to memories of how you were wronged isn't going to make things right again. The only way that can possibly happen is if you find some silver lining in that cloud. Move forward, and leave the wrongdoers in your past where they belong.

i think this is especially good advice for those grudges one might be holding against oneself. (for me...the list is legion these days. it's time to heal from this.)

standard disclaimer: i have 0% faith in astrology as a predictive science. at best, it is pseudoscience. however, it is fun to play with, and i like reading my horoscope as a source for pithy, daily bits-o-wisdom. as a scholar, i find it interesting as one of the myriad systems of meaning-making that shape human culture. it gives one something to chew on, as it were, to get the digestive juices of the mind flowing. yeah. it's like a digestive biscuit.

and then there's this article about the optimism center in the brain. i wonder if aerobic exercise improves blood flow to this area...

I think it's fun to read my horoscope, too, although many days I forget what it said ten minutes later. :) I have them on my MSN start page, and I have Ex's and the boy's signs on there, too. If I see one that's funny I'll e-mail it to them.

But you're right, sometimes the life advice can be nice to reflect on. I really like (though don't read everyday) Daily Om for that reason; their horoscopes tend to be more substantial (two long paragraphs!) than most, and more geared for reflection than anything else.
