i'm very annoyed.
i had to go to the fed-ex kinko's place to copy some shit and mail some other shit, and i stopped at this healthy little lunch place on my way back, and ordered a veggie-bowl to go. it's basically steamed rice with teriyaki veggies on top.
well, i got all the way back to the hotel, where i'm doing some work-from-my-hotel-room stuff (except it's a co-worker's hotel room because i checked out this morning), and my veggies have no sauce! have you ever eaten plain, steamed vegetables (by which i mean broccolli, carrots, cabbage, and fresh scallions) over white rice...with no sauce?
well that's what i'm doing. eating it, i mean. with no sauce. it's too far to walk back just for sauce.
now my memory is feeding me the image of several metal bins filled with sauce packets. silly me, i thought those were for folks who want *extra* sauce. maybe because the menu *says* the dish has sauce on it, and if you want the super hot sauce instead you have to *ask* for it.
i am desperately trying to figure out whom to blame for my decidedly bland lunch. the veggies are quite lovely--perfectly cooked and almost certainly packed with vitamins and other essential nutrients. but alas, they are not yummy.
oh, and i'll be moving north this evening. to san francisco. wish me a safe flight.
