ok...i'm not sure how long this link will work, but check this out.
the caption sez:
A blindfolded dog sits on a balance beam at a dog training ground of the Belarussian Defence Ministry near the village of Kolodishchi outside Minsk January 25, 2007. After completing the training the dogs will fulfill a variety of tasks in the military such as seeking explosives, mines or drugs. REUTERS/Vasily Fedosenko (BELARUS)
uh...how does sitting on a balance beam while blindfolded train a dog to seek explosives, mines, or drugs, exactly?
in other news, L and i had a delicious dinner at carta de la oaxaca (perhaps the "la" is in error), then cupcakes and blog fun on the wi-fi at the cupcake royale. soon we're going to see "children of men" at the majestic bay theater.
it's a ballard kind of night.
