My bet is that it's simply the old "change your routine, get better results" hair thing, you know how when you switch up your shampoo, and the slight residue that had built up from your old one over time gets stripped out by the new one?
Which then proceeds to build up over time until the next switch.
I think that's what happened to YOU!
I still believe that your "natural" regimen is solid...
The two people I know with really curly hair have it long, and do not use shampoo at all, just conditioner. Long, glossy curls, just gorgeous. And they both switch about once a month between brands.
Yeah, I'm sure you're right. I (probably naively) thought the baking soda/apple cider vinegar routine wouldn't cause buildup. My hair, alas, is not curly, it is straight and shows every iota of grease.
(I, too, use just conditioner between baking soda wash days, so maybe that's what was causing the buildup.)
I, and my meridian-straight fine hair, salute you!
(grin)
I have to use shampoo-plus-light-conditioner like Pert Plus because ANY separate conditioner drags my hair down into a flat, heavy mess. And without a touch of conditioner?
