i suspect i might be suffering a vitamin B deficiency of some sort. i've been extra foggy-brained lately, and i have noticed some slight tingling, occasionally, in my fingers and hands (not in my feet so far). i'm also having trouble with energy and motivation--getting my ass moving, even on a beautiful day. i get tired pretty easily lately too. i'm not depressed per se....though not exactly un-depressed either. i'd say *mildly* depressed, maybe, and feeling like i'm on the *verge* of being able to talk myself up and out of it.
i know vegetarians often suffer from a B-12 deficiency, and i've been re-vegetarianized just about long enough for the deficiency to show up (8-9 months). i do eat fish occasionally, but not all that often; and i eat dairy...eggs sometimes but not often, only when i can get really good, locally micro-farmed ones. anyway, i just picked up a b-complex vitamin to go along with my multivitamin, calcium supplements, and fish oil capsules. now the question is...is it possible i'm also low on iron, perhaps even anemic? and should i have my blood tested for vitamin levels, to see if i'm *actually* suffering from any sort of deficiency, before i go treating myself? it's funny, i never had this problem when i was a pretty strict vegetarian for like 3-4 years.

Date: 2006-03-24 07:15 pm (UTC)you can overdose on vitamins A/D/E & K, but it's difficult to OD on the rest as they're water soluble.
Get some folate, S - maybe in the form of a prenatal vitamin (good for everyone, even men, except if it has too much iron) - as a woman (presumably menstruating), it's difficult to overdose on iron, given the monthly bleeding ...
(that doesn't mean that you should gnaw on iron pipe...)
really, I'm just kidding about the"o" word. As with many "o" words, lots can go "w-o-g"
