ran 3 this morning. it was kind of a slog (i had a LAAAAZZZZZYYY weekend!), but sloggy miles count the same as fun miles, so there you go. that's 3 for the week.
here are a couple of other exercises i've been doing for my back:
i walk a couple of blocks to cool down after finishing a run. i know this probably looks ridiculous, but as i walk, i alternate between these two exercises:
1. arm raises--i start with my palms facing forward (thumbs up), then raise my arms slowly to the sides until they are over my head, then i slowly lower them back down. 12 reps.
2. pec stretch--i put my hands behind my head (like i'm lying down, relaxing), then i pull my elbows back and down. this flexes the shoulder blade muscles and stretches the pectoralis muscles. you can also do these to relieve tension after you've been hunching over a computer keyboard. makes for a nice little work break.
